Anya Chalotra, who plays Yennefer on 'The Witcher', controls a net worth of $350,000.

You gotta give extra credit to an actress who wanted to NOT escape doing nude scenes because she wanted to portray the character as herself only. Add to that, fulfilling the viewers' expectations were also a big task, but this girl did spectacularly for the most part on the Netflix original The Witcher.

Born on July 21, 1996 [age 24], in Wolverhampton, UK, and raised there, Anya Chalotra moved on from theaters and got into the screen after following her lifelong dream of becoming an actress. It's safe to say her breakthrough as Yennefer of Vengerberg on The Witcher pleased many naysayers (of course, you cannot please everyone). And yes, she is of Indian descent, from her father's side. Her mother is British.

For someone who's been cast in The Witcher, it's a surprise that Chalotra has only four on-screen acting credits to her name, including the aforementioned show. But that doesn't mean she doesn't get to live pretty. Her net worth has it easy for her and her brother to travel around Europe.

Anya Chalotra's Net Worth of $350,000 Is Impressive for a Fresh Actress

As of January 2020, Anya Chalotra's net worth amounts to an estimated $350,000. The main and only source of such wealth is from her acting career as she's invested her whole life in the industry.

The 24-year-old studied at St. Dominic's Grammar School for Girls, in Brewood. Then she trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), as well as the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Benedict Cumberbatch is the president of the former.

As mentioned earlier, she started her career as a theater artist and got to where she is as a passionate actress.

The Career That Gave Chalotra the Earnings

Since BBC doesn't publicize the salary of the actors of the TV series on its service, there's no definite way of learning of their income from the movies. One can only speculate. But British actors are known to earn less than in the American industry. Plus, Chalotra was not a main cast member of the projects she was involved in until The Witcher. So, her net worth is pretty darn impressive considering the massive talent she has.

While at St. Dominic's, the Yennefer actress was part of the school theater group. While at Guildhall, she was part of numerous plays, most prominently as Launcelot Gobbo in Richard Goulding's adaptation of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.

Other prominent roles include the extremely demanding Miss Havisham in Christian Burgess' adaptation Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, Tituba and Mercy Lewis in Mike Alfreds' The Crucible, Babe in Joseph Blatchley's Balm In Gilead, and so on. There's also an Indian movie adaptation of Great Expectations called Fitoor (no Anya Chalotra though).

After that, she went professional and signed with The Artists Partnership talent agency. She then featured in three more plays before entering the screen. She featured in Shakespeare's Globe's production of Much Ado About Nothing as Hero, The National Theatre's Peter Gynt as Sabine and Theatre Royal Stratford East's Village as Jyoti.

Village, that started in September 2018, possibly was the one to get her the on-screen debut with Wanderlust later that year as the play and her role got excellent reviews all over the country. She did five episodes as Jennifer Ashman on the show.

After that, she got the role of Lily Marbury on three episodes of British TV mini-series The ABC Murder. She was beginning to be known as a prominent up-and-coming actress in the UK, despite many not knowing of her during the announcement of her role in The Witcher.

After The ABC Murder, she moved on to act in the YouTube Premium original animated series, Sherwood, in early 2019. It was her first main role ever as she portrayed Robin Loxley in the series. The show did gain mild popularity as its pilot episode, which was the only one available for free, has garnered over 21 million at the time of writing, from the 7 million in the first week.

With an average income of $0.18 per view from YouTube, that's $3.78 million from the first episode alone. She might have received a big paycheck from that. Imagine the impact it had on her net worth.

How Well She Fared the Expectations from 'The Witcher' Fandom (Contains Spoilers Ahead!!!)

In October 2018, Anya Chalotra was introduced as Yennefer of Vanderberg on The Witcher, based on a series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, set in the medieval era. It was a shock to the followers of the book as well as the video game as they hadn't heard her name before the announcement in October 2018 at all. How could they? Her first TV appearance was only airing that month.

There were even more skeptics when people found out Chalotra was only 22 at the time. The dispute was, a 22-year-old couldn't possibly portray someone who is supposed to the mother of Ciri, played by now 18-year-old Freya Allan. Even if she was an adoptive mother. Viewers know Yennefer gave up being able to be a mother to beautify herself when she was being sent to a different kingdom than the one she desired by the Chapter.

Oh, and Yennefer is quarter-elf and a sorceress who can conjure up portals. She had a twisted spine due to her elven genetics but later changed herself from a hunchback girl, sold by her own father for less than a pig, into a beautiful and powerful sorceress. With magical incantations, of course.

Questions were lingering whether this young new actress would justify the role or not, until Netflix started streaming it on December 20, 2019. While the portrayal of Geralt of Rivia by Henry Cavill [net worth: $28 million], Tissaia by MyAnna Buring [net worth: $4.5 million], Allan and all the others was not much of an issue, Chalotra's portrayal of both the younger and older versions of Yennefer was considered outstanding by many. Although, it did gain negative popularity among many critics as expected.

The show received a mediocre 66% rating amongst the critics, it gained a huge 92% audience rating. In the end, the viewers are what matters to the show. It's already been scheduled for a 2021 release by Netflix, confirmed even before airing the first season.

There's still a lot for Yennefer to be when the next season unfolds. It will no doubt give her an extra nudge for other upcoming projects as she builds a bigger fanbase for herself. With that, her net worth is also sure to be boosted up.
