Learn the fortune Colin Jost has accumulated as his net worth over the years as a writer and Weekend Update Anchor in 'Saturday Night Live', his salary there, his other stand-up comedy works and the relationship with Fiancée Scarlett Johansson.
While Colin Jost may be a writer and a stand-up comedian, he is better known now as the fiancé of Hollywood superstar Scarlett Johansson. After being linked to each other in December 2017, their engagement in May 2019 came to no surprise. Fans knew it would happen someday, and it did.
Born on June 29, 1982 [age 38], in Grymes Hill, Staten Island, New York, Jost was hired to write for Saturday Night Live (SNL) as soon as he got out of college. He is primarily a writer for the shows we all watch and love. Besides SNL, he's written for Kappa Mikey and Staten Island Summer, among others. He's appeared on camera in those too, along with the likes of shows hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and even Just for Laughs Gags. For those who can't put the name and face together, he is that Weekend Update Anchor on SNL.

Jost is a face SNL viewers regularly see alongside Pete Davidson, Rob Klein, Michael Che and others. And his net worth is comparable to these guys; it more than Davidson's. When he's not a writer or an actor, he is a standup comedian performing with his group, The War Dogs.
Colin Jost's Net Worth of $6 Million Mostly Comes from His Various Positions in SNL — His Salary There
As of November 2019, Colin Jost's net worth amounts to $6 million, earned with his writing and comedy-acting skills. His primary source of income has to be his multiple jobs at SNL. His salary at SNL is designated as $25,000 per episode as the Weekend Update Anchor on the screen since he was a regular of the show in 2014.

Behind the scenes, he is/was a writer, writing supervisor, co-head writer and head writer at one point or another. That obviously has to add up to his net worth value. He's also featured in various other talk shows and TV series. In addition, he's also a verified actor (obviously) and has done a lot of comedy sketches as part of his standup shows with The War Dogs.
How Jost Came to Work in 'SNL' — His Job Promotions
Raised in Grymes Hill, Colin attended Regis High School of Manhattan. He was the editor of their school newspaper, The Owl, and was already doing speeches and debates at the school. He studied the History and Literature of Russia and Britain at Harvard University afterward in 2000, where he became the president of Harvard Lampoon, the University's humor publication. It seems he showed early signs of entering the comedy and writing world as he and his friends reenacted SNL sketches and read David Letterman Top 10 Lists while in Regis High, under teacher's permission.
NBC's SNL has been the biggest and the first platform for Jost to enter the spotlight. For the money part, he won $5,250 on a college edition of the game-show, Weakest Link. Immediately after graduation from Harvard in 2004, he was hired as a writer for SNL.

Jost's job in SNL surely has toggled over the years on the show. After working as one of the writers of 102 episodes from 2005 to 2012, he was promoted as one of the head writers in 2012. He was already promoted to writing supervisor in 2009 by then. He took a hiatus from SNL writing in 2015 but returned as a co-head writer of the show in 2017. He's been on the writing staff of SNL for 290 episodes, as of December 20, 2019.
As for his on-screen appearances, he started working as the Weekend Update Anchor since 2014, while declaring the hiatus, for 123 episodes till now. He was also featured in earlier episodes of the show, just as an uncredited character.
For the anchor role, he was approached by executive producer Lorne Michael to replace Seth Meyers, who was moving on with his own late-night talk show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, in 2014.
Besides 'SNL' — He Appeared on 'WrestleMania 35'
Jost doesn't stick to SNL only. He's appeared on other comedy and talk-shows too. Aside from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (8 episodes) and Just for Laughs: All-Access (3 episodes), he appeared once on an Impractical Jokers: After Party show in 2017. His brother, Casey Jost, is a writer at Impractical Jokers.
The son of a former teacher at Staten Island Technical High School, Jost wrote for The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards [2018], 75th Golden Globe Awards (special material) [2018], Staten Island Summer [2015], Kappa Mikey (five episodes) [2006], among others.

Colin Jost's House Hunting with Girlfriend-Turned Fiancée Scarlett Johansson
As impressive as his net worth is, Jost sure knows how to pick houses to settle in. The first reports of him buying a house came back in 2015 after he completed the purchase of the 1960 house in Hither Woods near Montauk. He reportedly paid $2.149 million for the 1.2-acre property which contains a 2600 sq ft house with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

While Jost says he met Scarlett Johansson in 2006, the actress only remembers him as a writer for one of the SNL episodes she hosted in November 2010. She was married to Ryan Reynolds at the time. According to reports, the two were set up by Kate McKinnon for a date sometime between March and May 2017. After some PDA in front of everyone at an SNL cast party, they were seen out on dates multiple times before going together at the 2017 American Museum of Natural History Gala as a couple for the first time in November that year. Here's the timeline.
Thus, Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson started dating since May 2017 and earlier this year in May, Johansson's publicist revealed to The Associated Press that the two were engaged to be married. Not long till we see another celebrity husband-wife, eh? After Johansson called Jost "the love of my life" in SNL's latest episode on December 14, everyone is brooding over another perfect couple.

Their relationship already was another step further since they were seen documented touring an $8 million Hamptons condo in July 2018. They had considered the home listed for $8.49 million, later reduced to $7.95 million. It is a 4,157 sq ft oceanfront condo at 271 Old Montauk Highway and the most expensive of the eight residences left for sale at the time in Gurney's, which start at $2.4 million.
However, the couple seems to have dropped the attempt to get it and seem to be living in Colin's Montauk house.
